In 2018, Red Kite were commissioned by Leominster Town Council to prepare a masterplan for the improvement of public open space at the Grange in Leominster, Herefordshire. The Site is an important community green space in the centre of Leominster, and is rich in heritage and wildlife. It encompasses the Grade II* listed Grange Court, the Grade I listed Priory Church, the Grade II listed Old Rectory, and a Scheduled Ancient Monument. The brief for the masterplan was to explore the overall potential of the Site and create a destination space for local people and visitors to Leominster. The final masterplan included an inter-generational destination play space; riverside picnic areas; natural play trails; wildlife garden; community hub and cafe; accessible community garden; outdoor events provision; and enhanced signage and interpretation. The final portfolio is intended to be used by Leominster Town Council to support funding applications for a phased implementation of the masterplan.
