In December 2019, Red Kite were appointed by Nene Park Trust to assist with the preparation of capital and revenue proposals for Ferry Meadows Country Park, which is part of Nene Park in Peterborough. The proposals are to inform a Round 2 National Lottery Heritage Fund application for the ambitious project, which focuses on community cohesion, natural heritage and wellbeing. The project has the following aims: 1) Empower and engage our communities to help conserve the natural heritage of Nene Park; 2) Build bridges with the multi-cultural communities of Peterborough to make Ferry Meadows an inclusive community hub; 3) Improve physical and mental health and wellbeing through nurturing connections with nature and the outdoors.
Red Kite are working closely with the client team at Nene Park Trust and the National Lottery Heritage Fund officers to develop, refine and test the proposals set out in the Round 1 application, and carry out the following scope of work to inform the Round 2 application:
