Monkmoor Meadows

Red Kite were appointed by Shropshire Wildlife Trust to prepare a feasibility study and masterplan for Monkmoor Meadows, a 4ha riverside site in Shrewsbury. Red Kite conducted a desktop study and site analysis, including historical, ecological and flooding information, to gain an understanding of the Site’s opportunities and constraints. Sketch proposals were then consulted on with the local community and stakeholders in order to gather feedback and inform the development of the final proposals (RIBA Stage 3). The aim of the masterplan was two fold: to enhance the ecological value and natural flood management functions of the site; and to improve the accessibility of the site for those with impaired mobility. Grant funding is now being secured for the implementation and delivery phase of the project.
